About Scottie's Birdies

Scottie's Birdies is a campaign designed to raise money to fight against pediatric cancer. The efforts are inspired by Scottie Smith, who at 2 years old was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Scottie is still strong in her fight to totally defeat the cancer and the Smith family has developed a passion for fighting all pediatric cancer. Scottie's Birdies stands alongside the Smith family by gathering a community of supporters who have pledged to donate based on birdies made by their favorite college golf programs in the Spring semester and their Championship Seasons.

All funds will be donated to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and will specifically go towards pediatric cancer research.

Pledges can range anywhere from 1 cent, 50 cents, 1 dollar or as high as you want to go per birdie. At the end of the Spring Semester and Championship Season, each participant's pledged amount will be multiplied by the amount of birdies made by your selected college golf program. That total will be your donation amount to the Scottie's Birdies campaign at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Please join along in our fight to end pediatric cancer!

NOTE: A college golf team typically makes in the ballpark of 45-50 birdies per tournament. It is also most common for a college golf program to play 5-7 tournaments in the Spring semester plus their hopeful participation in the NCAA Regional and National Championships. Based on this information, it would be fair to assume that you could expect your college golf team to make anywhere from 200 birdies to as many as 450 birdies over the course of this campaign. Of course, those numbers would roughly double if you choose to support and follow both the men's and women's programs. Of course, we always hope that our favorite teams will make more birdies than the average, leading to more money to help fight pediatric cancer!
